what could this dessert be (its french)?
last night i went to this international holiday thing at a local college were they had like food and stuff, it was for school. so i went up to the french station and they had this dessert. They had one chocolate one and the other was like, either vanilla or someone said it tasted like hazelnut. what it was is like it was chocolate cake that was thin and it had a fudge ice cream on top and then it was rolled into like a log so the inside was like a swirl, then the outside was topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, i dont know about the other one. i would have asked but they spoke french and im taking spanish, and there was no signs, any ideas? it was really good and i would like to find what it is and share with my family

Sounds like a buche de Noel, or Yule Log as we call it here. It’s a thin cake that is rolled up with filling (often hazelnut) and decorated to resemble a log.
