Roasted Ground Coffee

Do you dislike European roast coffee, and prefer tradtional American?
I notice that many restaurants (even McDonald’s) are changing to European roast. I find it too strong and bitter. Traditional American coffee and a more subtle flavor which I prefer. Places like Starbucks don’t even serve a good, fresh-ground, American coffee, as a option.
