Answer me this, I go to Starbucks & buy my Organic Shade grown coffee & the lady ask me if I got my free …?
coffee. I said ” What free coffee?” She then said that you get a free cup of coffee everytime you buy a bag of coffee! I said , ” I have been coming in here all this time & never got a free cup of coffee.” She said ” Oh, well you have to ask for it because we are not suspose to offer it to you.” Now tell me , what kind of statement is that? And when she gave me the free coffee of the day I said who can drink this because it is as thick as mud & bitter , & she said we use a press. DOES THIS MAKE SENSE? YOU HAVE TO ASK FOR IT? HOW DO WE KNOW TO ASK FOR SOMETHING IF THEY AREN’T SUSPOSE TO TELL YOU? GEEZ

Starbucks had a policy that ended in 2001 stating that every time a customer bought a pound of coffee they would get a free tall cup of drip coffee. And yes, this was advertised.
As I stated, the policy ended in 2001. Several stores around the country, especially stores that have “old school” Starbucks baristas still working in them, will still offer you this free cup of coffee anyway. It is totally up to their own personal judgement.
And yes, you should blame the barista! She was the one who gave you totally incorrect information and phrased it in such a way to make it seem like Starbucks is trying to secretly keep you from getting your free drink. lol. The barista was totally off base here.
